NATIONWIDE CONFERENCE FOR FUTURE ENTREPRENEURS

On the 16th and 17th of April 2008, we held the first edition of Nationwide Conference for Future Entrepreneurs at the All Seasons Multipurpose Hall, Agidinghi, Ikeja. It featured seasoned facilitators including former presidential candidate, Professor Pat Utomi; the CEO, Moneywise, Mr Ayo Arowolo the CEO, former vice president, chartered institute of Personnel Management (CIPM),Mr. Abiola Popoola; the MD, GS Microfinance Bank, Mr. Segun Adaju; MR Okechukwu Ogunjiofor-a Nollywood pioneer, Mrs. Florence Seriki, CEO Omatek Computers, as well as agencies such as the National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP), the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) and the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

At the conference which was attended by over two hundred and fifty young participants, these distinguished facilitators highlighted the need to build entrepreneurial capacity on a foundation of strong value systems. Special Conference: BrainFair 2009 Masterpiece Resource Development Centre (MRDC) in conjunction with Brainhive international put together a project tagged BRAINFAIR 2009: Unleash Your Genius the first of its kind in Africa for the 23rd and 24th of January 2008 primarily targeted at Nigerian Youths. BRAINFAIR 2009 was opened to individuals and organizations committed to learning and personal development and had international speakers and trainers teaching and encouraging Nigerian Youths on the essence of education, time management, efficient learning strategies, stress management, lateral thinking amongst other things required for success in education and life.

The speakers at the fair were Dr. Ben Carson, World renowned paediatrics neurosurgeon; Dr.Leila Edward, a director and senior consultant of the Makeover Experience, Bahrain and a leading consultant hypnotherapist and motivational coach and Adeniyi Emmanuel Adeniji, the First World Memory Sports Council certified memory arbiter in Africa and first Nigerian at the World Memory Championships. For the 24th of January, over eleven thousand secondary school students and other youths were in attendance to listen to Dr. Ben Carson on how to unleash the greatness within them. The event was graced by the presence of Her Excellency the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Princess Sarah Sosan.
